District One
The District |
District One is by far one of the wealthiest district of Panem with industry and manufacturing of luxury items for the Capitol at the heart of its economy. Some of the most valuable items that are refined in this district are precious gems such as diamonds and because the Capitol values these items so much, the other districts have come to refer to District One as the Capitol’s “lapdog”.
Personality |
The people of District One are often described as selfish, power hungry, and those who carry an air of glamour and a feeling that they are better than everyone else. This is even reflected down into their children who take pride in competing in the Hunger Games, often becoming children of the Career which train all their lives to battle it out in the Hunger Games.
Careers |
For those who do not go to the Hunger Games, the usual jobs that people take part in making jewelry or owning shops such as luxury item or jewelry stores. Some of the poorer people in the town own fine bistros, bakeries, and restaurants; none are less than the Capitol’s expectations though.
