District Eight
The District |
District Eight is known as the industry and clothing textile center of Panem, though their main use for their factories is the creation of Peacekeeper uniforms. The incomes in District Eight are fairly low to the point that most people work two or three jobs just to barely get by. With such a low income, most of the people in this area are starving to death and the freezing cold from the climate does not help out in this situation either. Most people die during the winter because of malnourishment mixed with hypothermia and pneumonia, making this one of the most miserable places to live.
Personality |
Most of the people in this district are extremely hardworking and loyal despite being as poor as they are. They sadly have no advantages in the Hunger Games and have average skills in fighting, though they are rather intellectual in survival skills where they would need to know how to keep alive in the freezing weather.
Careers |
A typical job for someone who lives in this district is a factory worker, designer, factory worker, or warehouse manager if they are male or a teacher, weaver, dress maker, factory worker, or designer if they are female. The area is so poor though that even children begin working in factories at ages as young as five to help provide food for their family.
